Claire House India Trek

Sara Bates and Dawn Jones returned last week from their Himalayan trek in India.  Through various fundraising events and generous donations they each exceeded their £3100 target for Claire House Children's Hospice.

Dailys have supported this charity for the last three years and Sara and Dawn took the once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in the trek organised by Claire House as part of their 10 year birthday events.

The trek was hard work but very rewarding and the highlight of the trip for both of them was getting to the top of the mountain to find very deep untouched snow after a couple of days of spirit dampening rain.

Everyone at Dailys are very proud of their achivement and we would like to thank all those who supported Sara and Dawn.

Claire House Indian Trekking

Dailys Take Part in the Claire House Indian Trekking Challenge!

Claire House Charity Support

From the 6th to the 16th November this year two colleagues from Dailys – Sara Bates and Dawn Jones will be joining Claire House on their special 10th Anniversary trek as they explore North Eastern India, trekking through the foothills of the Himalayas.  It is a 10 day trip which includes a five day trek. This five day challenge is not for the faint hearted with each trekking day being approx 7-8 hours long. Starting at 2,070m in Dharamsala  heading to Kareri, Bal Village and then to the Dhauldbar Mountain Range. Then on to Triund, Laka Got and then to Bhagso Nak where they reach a trekking height of over 3,500m.

Dailys have supported Claire House for the last 2 years and this is a chance to raise some serious amounts of money for them and also offer those who take part the experience of a life time.  To be able to take part in the trek each person has to raise £3100.00.  Dailys are kick-starting the fund-raising by donating £1000.00 to each employee who takes part so our overall target is £6,300. From the £3100.00 48% goes towards the cost of the trek but the remaining 52% plus what we raise over the target goes straight to Claire House so we hope that we can beat the target and raise as much as possible.

We visited Claire House a couple of weeks ago on their open day and were amazed and overwhelmed by the level of care and support they offer terminally ill children and their families.  Claire house relies solely on the generosity and help of people in the region for all of its income and running costs which total around £200,000 each month. We found out that unfortunately due to the current climate Claire House are considerably short on funds this year and have already had to let go a number of key staff which is extremely disheartening.  If you would like to know more about Claire House and what the funds raised can do for them please visit http://www.claire-house.org.uk/.

We would like to ask you to consider helping us reach or even beat our target by donating on our fund-raisingg site - www.justgiving.com/dailys , (or whichever way you would prefer to donate). Your support is greatly appreciated.
