A History of Dailys Ltd
- Dailys was founded in 1993 by David Sallon, who, having been involved in non-woven clothing for most of his working life, realised that there was a private label opportunity for manufacturing high-quality, non-woven sewn products.
- A small production unit was set up on North Wales, using staff that had worked previously for David Sallon and the initial focus was on disposable briefs for the medical and consumer markets.
- As the business grew, David recognised that the industrial disposable clothing market was maturing due to the PPE directive and began to make certified garments for distribution in the UK.
- In 1998 the decision was taken to move the sewing production to China and in 1999 David’s daughter, Rebecca Lewis joined the business to manage Industrial Sales. The industrial products were selling successfully and more emphasis was placed on sourcing and developing new materials and designs.
- In 2002 Dailys moved from North Wales to Ellesmere Port, which is between Manchester and Liverpool, into new purpose built premises and in 2003, David’s son, Ben Sallon joined the business to develop export sales.
- Dailys began to develop a patented consumer nursing pad for manufacture in the UK and continued to expand consumer maternity sales to include bed protection, femcare products and nursing products.
- The business has grown exponentially in the last 6 years and the team at Dailys put this down to staying within core-competencies – Dailys has always had expertise in private label and non-wovens, as well as choosing to work in long-term partnership with customers and suppliers to develop best products and best value. In November 2008 Dailys moved, once again, into larger, purpose built facilities, combining Head Offices and a Global Distribution Centre.
